Danielle McCray began her legal career as a Paralegal in 2011 after completing Emory University’s Paralegal Certificate Program. As a Paralegal, Ms. McCray gained invaluable experience assisting in the representation of individuals that sustained catastrophic injuries or death due to the negligent actions of others. Ms. McCray devoted the majority of her Paralegal career to civil litigation and aided in the recovery of tens of millions of dollars within the five years that she devoted to her previous law firm. It became clear very early on in her Paralegal career that Ms. McCray possessed the intellect, work ethic, and zealousness that clients look for in an attorney.
In 2015, Ms. McCray enrolled in Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School’s part-time evening program while maintaining full-time employment as a Litigation Paralegal at a personal injury law firm. Despite her rigorous schedule, Ms. McCray excelled both at school and work. In her second semester, Ms. McCray was selected to compete in the G. Alan Blackburn Moot Court Competition, in which she was a second-round finalist. From 2017 until 2019, Ms. McCray served as a Peer Mentor and a published Staff Editor for the Law Journal. She is a CALI Award recipient for Evidence I and Criminal Justice Lawyering for earning the highest grade in those courses. The highlight of her law school tenure is her enrollment in the University of Missouri’s study abroad program, in which she spent her last summer semester at the University of the Western Cape Faculty of Law in Cape Town, South Africa. During her final semester of law school, Ms. McCray was accepted into the City of Atlanta’s Office of the Public Defender’s Externship Program, where she was able to utilize her Student Practice Certificate to gain courtroom experience while serving Atlanta’s indigent community. Ms. McCray graduated Cum Laude from John Marshall in May 2019 and was sworn into the practice of law in November 2019.
Ms. McCray was recruited by Lowe Law and accepted her associate position in April 2019. She brings 8 years of personal injury litigation experience and tenacious passion to the firm. Even though she is considered to be a “baby lawyer,” Ms. McCray fearlessly rises to any challenges that are presented to her thanks to her Paralegal foundation. Most notably, she has already served as the Associate Attorney for the firm’s largest settlement to date within seven months of being a licensed attorney.
When Ms. McCray finally takes a break from all things law, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and is anxiously awaiting to travel the world again post COVID-19. Her hobbies include kickboxing, interior decorating, and undertaking philanthropic projects. Ms. McCray is a San Francisco, California native and proud HBCU alumnae representing Clark Atlanta University’s class of 2009.
